He is considered to have revolutionized training in the sport of bodybuilding. His style of training is known as "blood and guts" training. This style of training advocates several different exercises and few sets for a bodypart allowing it to be hit from all angles for optimum development. He believed that muscle stimulation could be caused in a shorter period of time with the proper intensity rather than working out for extended periods of time. He is also known for his incredible back development. Image File history File links No higher resolution available. ...

In 2006 he franchised Temple Gym hoping to make it a world wide chain, currently there are 4 branches, 3 of these in the UK. Dorian Yates left CNP Professional in 2006 to pursue his own interests and began a new supplement company Dorian Yates Ultimate Formulas. Yates new venture ran into trouble after packaging on his products claimed to have been tested by a leading US company that ensures that products are free of any banned substances. Banned Substances Control Group (BSCG) [1] have demanded Yates remove all reference to their organisation from its packaging, as his products have not passed certification by them and as such are using their logo without permission.
