Dorothy Janis (February 19, 1910, Dallas, Texas) was an American silent film actress. Her short film career began when she was visiting a cousin, who was working on a film for Fox in 1927. Her beauty was noticed at once and was asked for a screen test She made five films, 4 silents and 1 talkie. She was best known for playing opposite Ramon Novarro in The Pagan (1929).
