Douglas County is a county located in the state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population is 32,821. Its county seat is Alexandria6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,865 km˛ (720 mi˛). 1,643 km˛ (634 mi˛) of it is land and 222 km˛ (86 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 11.89% water.

Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 32,821 people, 13,276 households, and 9,027 families residing in the county. The population density is 20/km˛ (52/mi˛). There are 16,694 housing units at an average density of 10/km˛ (26/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 98.49% White, 0.18% Black or African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.40% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.18% from other races, and 0.48% from two or more races. 0.59% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 13,276 households out of which 29.90% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.00% are married couples living together, 6.40% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.00% are non-families. 26.50% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.30% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.42 and the average family size is 2.93.

Cities and towns † Most of Osakis is in Douglas County, but a part of the city extends into Todd County.
