In the second season, Emerson was no longer a full-time character but only a special guest star. His character famously killed himself at his birthday party, when he twirled a gun around and accidentally shot himself, bleeding all over his mom's Persian rug as David looked on in horror.

He gave up acting to join the army. In 2002 he was a staff sergeant in the U. S. Air Force. His carrier was successful there. He has two child with his wife.
