This region is atypical in several respects: while most landscapes in Norway are bounded by geographical barriers such as fjords and mountain ranges, the Dovre region comprises alpine communities that straddle the mountain range of Dovrefjell. Each of the three municipalities is also in different counties: Dovre is in Oppland, Folldal is in Hedmark, and Oppdal is in Sør-Trøndelag. Dovrefjell is a mountain range in central Norway that forms a natural barrier between the southern regions of Norway and the area around Trondheim. ...
