Encyclopedia > Downfall (band)

Downfall was a ska/punk band from the Bay Area formed by Tim Armstrong, Matt Freeman, and Dave Mello following the break-up of Operation Ivy in 1989 and pre-dating Armstrong's and Freeman's wider recognition in Rancid.

Releases

The only official Downfall release was the song "North Berkeley" on the "Can of Pork" compilation on Lookout! Records. Rumors of a CD release called "Get Ready for Action" have been circulating for years, and it's uncertain whether that will ever happen. Low quality recordings of the songs are available, hard to track down, and extremely well-received by Operation Ivy fans who have heard them. The only known place to find Downfall's music is http://www.operationivy.com/mp3.php

That's all for now, sign the guestbook and spread the word because the face of local music is going to change when we return from our unofficial hiatus, so watch out and be prepared.
In other news the band has the base for four or so new songs and they are sick and heavy.
Downfall has no hard feelings and wish him the best in his musical future.
