Dr. Livesey is a character in the novel Treasure Island, by Robert Louis Stevenson. The Dr.'s first appearance in the book is when he comes to the "Admiral Benbow". He later accompanies the crew to go to Treasure Island to assist when needed. When Jim Hawkins shows Squire Trelawney and the Dr. the map of Treausure Island, he decides to go with them. He rides along with them on the Hispanoila. Jim comes to Captain Smollett, the squire, and the dr. to tell them that Long John Silver is going to plan mutiny. Jim tells them that Silver will kill everyone but his own crew mates called the mutineers when they find the treasure. Dr. Livesey plays an important role by shooting many of the mutineers as they approach the stockade that they get to once on the island.
