After his secondary education, he enrolled with Faculty of Electronics in Nis, Serbia where he earned BS and MS degrees 1993 and 1997, respectively. He moved to USA in 1997 where he began Ph.D. studies at Washington State University under supervision of his advisor Dr. Zoran Obradovic. He moved to Philadelphia in 2000 where he obtained his Ph.D. degree from Temple University in June 2002. Since August 2002, Pokrajac has been an assistant professor at Delaware State University (DSU). He is a co-author of about 80 conference and journal papers, one patent, and a co-PI on several grants totalling more than $10,000,000 in funding money. He has been one of founders of Applied Mathematics Research Center, the first DSU PhD program and initiator of collaboration between DSU and Serbian Universities.
