The Drake Circus district extends to Armada Street to the North and the corner of Tavistock Place and Regent street to the south. It previously extended to an island of Edwardian shops that were demolished and absorbed into a 1970's shopping complex that adopted the name Drake Circus even though it fronted Bretonside, which is its true geographical, legal and postal District. The entire campus of the University of Plymouth lies within Drake Circus.
