Draughons Junior College is a career college founded in 1879, by John F. Draughon, of Adams Tennessee. He realized that there was a need for people to be trained in business. The initial name of the school was Draughons Practicle Business College and was offered on wheels. The first permanent school was established in Nashville, Tennessee around the beginning of the 1900s. The school prospered and by the time of his death in 1921, the school had a chain of business colleges stretching across the south and western parts of the United States. Draughons Junior College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), and offers both one and two year programs in business, law enforcement, paralegal, and healthcare. Campus locations are in Tennessee at: Clarksville, Nashville, and Murfreesboro and in Kentucky at: Bowling Green.
