DreamWorks SKG (Spielberg, Katzenberg, Geffen) is a Big Ten studio in the United States of America which develops, produces, and distributes films, music, and television programming.
DreamWorks Records never lived up to expectations and was sold in October 2003 to Universal Music Group which now operates the label as DreamWorks Nashville.
The studio has had its greatest financial success with movies, specifically animated movies. Shrek 2 (2004) is the highest grossing animated film of all time. Based on this success, DreamWorks Animation, Inc. is planning to separate from DreamWorks SKG and become its own publicly traded company. In fact, DreamWorks has emerged as the main competitor to Pixar in the age of computer-generated animation.

So when DreamWorks announced that they would begin work on two new animated features, including Shrek 2, the creative filmmakers knew that whatever they put onscreen would have to be even more technologically breathtaking than the original Shrek.
Today, HP is providing technology solutions throughout the DreamWorks studio, from enabling world-class CG animation with state-of-the-art workstations and servers to creating a rock-solid infrastructure for the company’s critical business systems.
With the help of HP, DreamWorks is pushing the boundaries of creative filmmaking — and making the job of bringing dreams to life a whole lot easier.
