Drechterland (population: 10,378 in 2004) is a municipality in the north-western Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The municipality covers an area of 24.08 kmē (of which 0.16 kmē water).


The municipality of Drechterland consists of the following towns, villages and townships: Hoogkarspel, Oosterblokker, Westwoud.


Westwoud

Westwoud is located about 4 km northeast of Hoorn. It received city rights in 1811.
