The M7 motorway bypasses the town, which is one of the larger towns in the county. The town is connected to the railway network, on the DublinCork line. Winning numerous short corners, Droichead Nua were unlucky not to put the game away, and indeed Sharon Whelan did find the back of the net but as her shot was struck slightly outside the circle it was disallowed.
Droichead Nua seconds travelled to Lucan on Saturday afternoon to play Weston and returned with all three points and an outstanding victory which surely sets them up as a real contender for Division 9 honours this season.
