For much of the first half, DroicheadNua appeared to be the stronger of the two teams and with Carol Brennan and Sharon Whelan commanding the wide areas of midfield, chances were created for Grace Monaghan and Karen Keane but the Loreto’keeper held fast to keep her side in the game.

DroicheadNua seconds travelled to Lucan on Saturday afternoon to play Weston and returned with all three points and an outstanding victory which surely sets them up as a real contender for Division 9 honours this season.
