The Dropbears were a band who played in the Sydney live music scene in the early 1980s who also had a couple of national chart hits and received national airplay. They had a minor charting hit with Shall We Go in 1985. Band was formed in Darlinghurst Sydney 1980 consisted on Johnny Bachelor, Simone Rudin and Chris Toms (Criss Cross) - Chris coined the name Dropbears - prior to this Johnny and Simon were jamming with bass player Rod , but it wans't happening , Chris lived downstairs and Johnny asked him to join the , as then unnamed band - How do I know all this ? It is believed that this is due to the ravages of the dropbears who destroyed the fledgling colonies without a trace.
With the development of the camera, blurry, out of focus photographs were sometimes managed to be taken by some of the dropbear's victims although it is not uncommon for a dropbear to destroy every belonging during an attack.
Dropbears have a highly developed sense of smell like that of sharks (some of which can smell a drop of blood in water from over a mile away).

A dropbear is a marsupial, one of the few marsupial carnivores, which include the Tasmanian devil and the various species of quoll.
The dropbear attacks by driving it's claws deep into the neck of a victim, then using a sideways tearing motion as the slightly curved claw is withdrawn.
Indeed, in areas of high dropbear density (such as national parks, and outback cattle stations), almost all buildings are entirely sheeted with corrugated iron in order to provide protection (or at least, some time) in the event of a dropbear attack.
