Drumsna is a tiny town of little over 100 people. It is a very affluent neighborhood. It is near Carrick-on-Shannon. The town has 4 pubs on 1 street. The street is only 1 block. The most famous pubs there are Duignan's Pub and O'Mallys. Duignan's has been named one of the top 100 pubs throughout all of Ireland. It is a very cozy pub and has been serving customers for over a century. O'Mallys has been around for over a century too. They are arch-rivals. In the town there are two grocery stores, one of which is next to Duignan's Pub. The town contains one movie rental store. There is also a church in the town. There is a police precent in the town and most of the people in the town are policemen. The streets are filled with policecars.
Common on their are not near 100 coppers in this town and I did not see one Police car but did see several Audi's. The truth - the gem of the town is the cute seven arch bridge that runs to Jamestown, built in early 1700's. Stunning. That lovely river Shannon below flows like Guinness thro each of those arches. And the gas station. Well not sure if it shut twenty years or more ago judging by the creepers on the roof, but it is "retail of the town" for sure. Do do change it! Also very grand is the Catholic church maintained well, lovely stain glass windows and a treat to see full of country folk on Sundays. Drumsna we love ya.
Drumsna took both ends in a pulling time of eight minutes to face Killylough for the honours.
The final was a tremendous battle as neither club had won the 640kg in recent years.
In the end Killyloughs experience and fitness was the difference and they narrowly beat Drumsna, in a pulling time of seven minutes to take the championship.
