Dubai Millennium was a racehorse owned by the Godolphin team, who raced predominantly in Europe. He was by Seeking The Gold, out of Colorado Dancer. He is considered to be one of the best racehorses from 1990 onwards. Dubai Millennium made his debut as a two year old at Yarmouth race course, over a mile. He started odds-on favorite and won by five lengths despite being eased down by jockey Frankie Dettori in the closing stages. At three, he was aimed at the Epsom Derby, easily winning his two preparatory races. The Derby, run over a mile and a half, proved to be too long a distance for him, and he finished ninth.
