It is located in the south-eastern part of Dublin City, including areas such as Ballsbridge, Donnybrook and Sandymount (collectively referred to as "Dublin 4"), as well as the areas of Ranelagh and Rathmines, and the central business district of the city (including Trinity College Dublin and St. Stephen's Green). The constituency has an electorate of 59,896 and at present is served by 4 Teachtaí Dála (TDs). The method of election is the Single Transferable Vote.
