While this practice is by no means unique to Dublin, the pace of recent development there has meant that the original source of the name is more likely to have disappeared.


Examples include:

  • Doyle's Corner: in Phibsboro
  • Hart's Corner: in Glasnevin
  • Kelly's Corner: at the junction of Camden Street and Heytesbury Street
  • Leonard's Corner: at the junction of South Circular Road and Clanbrassil Street
