Golden duck

Originally a golden duck was when a batsman was run out without having faced a single ball - usually as a result of a bad running decision by one player or another. However, nowadays cricket commentators use the term to mean that a batsman has got out on the first ball they faced and when a batsman is run out without facing a single ball, they use the term "diamond duck". The old usage is, however, still current among many cricket fans. Run out is a method of dismissal in the sport of cricket. ... Diamond duck

A diamond duck (AKA Black Duck or Glass Duck) is when a batsman is run out without facing a single ball. This is a very rare occurrence in most forms of cricket.

Silver and bronze ducks

A second or third ball duck. Derived from golden duck. This term is rarely used in professional cricket.


Platinum ducks

A platinum duck is when a batsman gets out on his first ball of the first match of the season.


Pair

A pair is when a a batsman gets two ducks in a row.


Turkey

A Turkey is when a batsman gets a duck 3 matches in a row.
