It is in Nye County, on the eastern edge of the Duckwater Indian Reservation. The city of Las Vegas is about 200 miles to the south-southeast.


The population of Duckwater is 368 (2000 Census). The average household income is about $43,980. Some main streets include "Meadow Road", "Duckwater Falls", and "Sugarshack Road". The nearest airport is Ely Airport in Ely, NV.

CONSTITUTION OF THE DUCKWATER SHOSHONE TRIBE (4657 words)
The Constitution and By‑laws of the Duckwater Shoshone Tribe, approved by the Secretary of the Interior on November 28, 1940 and subsequently amended, is hereby superseded by this revised Constitution, which shall govern the Duckwater Shoshone Tribe of Nevada from its effective date.
The Duckwater Shoshone Tribal Council shall have and may exercise such further powers that are granted in its inherent sovereignty and as may in the future be delegated to the Tribe by its members or otherwise.
The lands of the Duckwater Shoshone Tribe now held or hereafter acquired by or for the Tribe or the United States in trust for said Tribe shall be held as tribal lands, and no part of such land shall be mortgaged or sold, except, as provided for an permitted by applicable Federal laws and regulations.
