Duke Erikson performing live with Shirley Manson and Eric Avery Douglas "Duke" Erikson was born in Nebraska on 15 January 1953. At 16 years old he created his first band, The British. Erikson studied art history, and financed his studies with numerous jobs such as a carpenter or a truck driver. Duke is single and the father of a daughter. In 1987 Duke and Butch created, with Phil Davis as a singer, the band Firetown. Firetown published two albums and six singles in very short period of time, and a video for the single Carry The Torch. But in 1989 the band separated and it brought the reunification of the singleSpooner to reunite them. A new album (Fugitive Dance) as well as new single appeared, before the band separated in 1993. By this time, Butch Vig had made himself a name as a producer.
