During his administration, there was growing evidence of the reemergence of their feared enemy, The Shadows, although many in the Minbari government refused to recognize it as such. Dukhat disagreed and decided to have the Gey Council personally investigate the matter on their enemy's home planet of Z'ha'dum. The human captain—who was considered by his crew to be a 'loose cannon'—panicked and opened fire on the Minbari ships. This attack resulted in the death of Dukhat. This caused the Minbari to declare a holy war against the humans that resulted in about 250,000 human deaths. Furthermore, it would have concluded with the extermination of humanity until the Battle of the Line when a stunning discovery prompted the Minbari to surrender. The Earth Alliance is the name of a fictional alliance of the countries of Earth in the television series Babylon 5. ...
