Duncan Goodhew (born March 27, 1957) is one of the most respected and instantly recognisable UK swimming athletes. He was an Olympic Gold and Bronze medallist at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. He was the England Swimming team captain, and multi-Olympics champion. His congenitally bald head made him instantly recognisable.


He is also an author and motivational speaker.


He was appointed an MBE by Queen Elizabeth II for services to sport.

Duncan Goodhew represented Great Britain in swimming between 1974 and 1980, culminating in a gold medal at the Moscow Olympic Games in the 100m breaststroke, and a bronze medal in the 4 x 100m Medley Relay.
Duncan's sporting career continued after his retirement from swimming when he represented Great Britain in the 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh teams at the European Championships.
