Dunnarts are furry narrow-footed marsupials the size of a mouse. They are mainly insectivorous.


There are 18 species, all in Australia : ( S. murina, S. dolichura, S. gilberti, S. griseoventer, S. aitkeni, S. leucopus, S. longicaudata, S. ooldea, S. psammophila, S. granulipes, S. macroura, S. virginiae, S. douglasi, S. butleri, S. archeri, S. youngsoni, S. hirtipes, S. crassicaudata).
