Background

Duo Lon is an enigmatic high ranking member of the Hizoku (The Flying Brigands in America) clan, and, like his comrade Lin, despises their master Ron, who betrayed the group and killed many of his former comrades. Information on Duo Lon's design graphy (from KOF2003 PS2 gallery. The Mook version deletes this line for unknown reason.) revealed he is one of the nine sons of Ron, an assassin who chased after his own father. The design information also pointed out that he is said to be the strongest warrior of the Hizoku clan, a silent guy with rather forgiving nature. Falcoon's one-paged comic(Offical)featuring Duo Lon is being titled "Assassin Night." It shows Duo Lon in his tuxedo at a high society party where he is on a mission to assassinate one of the guests. Other Hizoku high ranking members (Ran, Chat and Sei) are also in this story.

Trivia

  • Duo Lon is one of the very rare King of Fighters characters who sport a very strange stance, in his normal fighting stance, his foot is bent in a very unusual (and painful looking) way.
  • According to KOF tenth anniversary website, Duo Lon's design is inspired by Vampire Hunter D.
  • Although his moves are similar in nature, there is no evidence to suggest that Duo Lon was in fact a member of the NESTS cartel.
  • Duo Lon also appears as a cameo in KOF: Maximum Impact 2 in the CATACOMB-Evening stage. He is hidden by the farmost right side (in a bird's eye point of view, the North-East) of the stage.
  • Duo Lon's win quote (when against Sub-Boss Shion in KOF XI ) is partially quoted from "The art of war" of Suntze.
  • Duo Lon's moveset lent him the ability to perform an infinite combo, which gave him a distinct and completely unfair advantage over the rest of the cast of King of Fighters 2003. For this reason, his moveset was almost completely altered in KOF XI, although his DMs and LDM remain unchanged.
  • Duo Lon was apparently an enigma of sorts when he first debuted. Fans were not only confused on this character's sex (his heavily ornate clothes and braided hair led some to think he was a woman), but they were also unsure about the character himself. Wild stories surfaced on how Duo Lon was either an undead, a zombie, a necromancer, or perhaps a wandering spirit. These stories were derived from the fans reactions to his various moves. Duo Lon's ghost-affiliated DMs, and a jaw-dropping special move where he would seemingly dissolve into a skeleton and crumble into the floor, while he immediately dropping down from above with a spinning kick move, which served to inspire these stories.
  • That amazing-looking special move, the Transmigration Stamp was one of the "move casualties" between '03 and XI. In KOF XI, he could no longer do the "dissolve" portion, but he was still capable of performing the kick move as a mid-air special.
  • Duo Lon's LDM, the Secret Shadow Copy is a strictly combo-affiliated move where a duplicated will repeat the techniques used for a period of time. Other characters with this same technique include Darkstalkers Jon Talbain and Morrigan Aensland,Street Fighter III's Yang Lee and Rose from Street Fighter Alpha 3
