Durlach is a borough of the German city of Karlsruhe. The rulers of Baden-Durlach had their residence here until 1715, when Karl Wilhelm III decided that he needed more space which led to the foundation of Karlsruhe. Previously an independent town, in 1938 Durlach was incorporated into Karlsruhe, which had grown bigger.
