Dutchtown is a village located in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 99.


Geography

Dutchtown is located at 37°15'8" North, 89°39'29" West (37.252300, -89.658064)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 99 people, 36 households, and 28 families residing in the village. The population density is 78.0/km² (200.1/mi²). There are 43 housing units at an average density of 33.9/km² (86.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 91.92% White, 3.03% African American, 3.03% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.02% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 36 households out of which 36.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.3% are married couples living together, 19.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.2% are non-families. 22.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.75 and the average family size is 3.18.


In the village the population is spread out with 30.3% under the age of 18, 11.1% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 19.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 102.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 81.6 males.


The median income for a household in the village is $23,750, and the median income for a family is $28,750. Males have a median income of $25,000 versus $21,042 for females. The per capita income for the village is $14,033. 15.0% of the population and 18.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 17.6% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
