Town Events

Every June 4th there is a festival held titled "Duvall Days".[1] Typically the event is marked by a parade (which eventually was cancelled in 2002 due to complaints regarding noise and/or littering, then later reinstated by citizen request), and street side vendors. Over the last 10 years, aspects that made Duvall Days a popular event have been banned each year. An example of this would be potato guns and silly string, both now officially banned from sale by vendors during the event (once again mostly likely due to the resulting litter and/or potential for injury). As a result, the celebration has become much less popular, and much less of an important event. This is in contrast to Duvall's neighboring town, Carnation, and their 4th of July celebration which has seen a consistently high level of attendance.
