E. Balanandan, communist politician from Kerala, India. Polit Bureau member of Communist Party of India (Marxist) since 1978.


Born June 16 1924 in Sakthikulangara, Kollam District. Son of Raman and Eswary.


Initiated his political career in the Indian National Congress.


Later joined Communist Party of India, and then CPI(M).


Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly 1967-1977. Member of Lok Sabha 1980-1984. Elected to Rajya Sabha 1988 and 1994.


President of Centre of Indian Trade Unions. President of Electricity Employees' Federation of India.
