The Eastern Championship Wrestling Tag Team Championship[1] came into existence in June 23, 1992 when the Super Destroyers won a tournament. In September1994 ECW left the National Wrestling Alliance and was renamed Extreme Championship Wrestling, and the title was then known as the Extreme Championship Wrestling World Tag Team Championship.
