This produces a brighter attack than other humbuckers produced by EMG. It has a higher peak than other EMG models but a steeper resonance slope. It has been suggested that Fender Amplifier History be merged into this article or section. ...

The EMG 60 is used primarily by rhythm guitarists who play heavy metal. The EMG 60 has lots of output and clarity giving it its distinctive crunch when used with lots of mid-range.
