Myers-Briggs' description

ENFPs are described as initiators of change who are keenly perceptive of possibilities, and who energize and stimulate through their contagious enthusiasm. They prefer the start-up phase of a project or relationship, and are tireless in the pursuit of new-found interests. ENFPs are able to anticipate the needs of others and to offer them needed help and appreciation. They bring zest, joy, liveliness, and fun to all aspects of their lives. They are at their best in situations that are fluid and changing, and that allow them to express their creativity and use their charisma. They tend to idealize people, and can be disappointed when reality fails to fulfill their expectations. They are easily frustrated if a project requires a great deal of follow up or attention to detail.

Cognitive functions

The functions of each personality form a hierarchy which represents a person's "default" pattern of behavior in their day to day life. The dominant function is a person's preferred role, the task they are most comfortable with. The auxiliary function is the role the person feels the next most comfortable with. It serves to support and expand on the dominant function. One of these first two will always be an information-gathering (sensation or intuition) function and the other will be a decision-making (thinking or feeling) function.

The tertiary function is less developed than the dominant and auxiliary functions, but develops as the person matures and provides roundness of ability. The inferior function is the personality type's Achilles' heel and is the function a person is least comfortable with. Like the tertiary function, the inferior function strengthens with maturity.[2] An Achilles’ heel is a fatal weakness in spite of overall strength, actually or potentially leading to downfall. ... Maturity is a psychological term used to indicate that a person responds to the circumstances or environment in an appropriate manner. ...
