The EVF does seem adequate as you note, however, I think Leica is capable, and in a sense has a responsibility to do better than "adequate".
EVF is better for me because I can't focus well except at close to arm's length, so the 2 inch display becomes much smaller - the diopter correction in the EVF helps there....
I use the EVF 95% of the time, the major problem with the EVF is the time lag between what happens en the time you see it happen in the finder.
