Eagleview Middle School (commonly abbreviated EMS or referred to simply as Eagleview) is a middle school located in northwestern Colorado Springs, Colorado serving grades 6 through 8. The school is one of the middle schools in Academy School District 20 (the others being Challenger Middle School, Mountain Ridge Middle School, and Timberview Middle School) and primarily serves students in northwestern Colorado Springs, even though students living elsewhere in the district can choose to attend Eagleview should their assigned schools not fit their needs. Eagleview's school colors are gray and burgundy while its mascot is the eagle. Administration

The administration at Eagleview Middle School consists of three principals, each running a grade level. They rotate as the classes move up in grade.

Classes begin at 7:50 a.m. and end at 2:45 p.m. There are two types of classes at Eagleview: core classes and exploratories.

There are four core classes every student is required to take at every grade level:

Exploratories

"Exploratories," as they are referred to at Eagleview Middle School, consist of two classes that students take at times during the day. They begin at 1:15 p.m. for sixth graders, 10:05 a.m. for seventh graders, and at 7:50 a.m. for eighth graders. Eighth graders can choose to take assistant exploratories in which they can choose to help staff members in the attendance office, counseling office, severe/special needs (SSN) area, or in the adjacent preschool.


Extracurricular activities

Students can participate in a variety of activities before and after school, including athletics and academic competitions. Achievements

  • Eagleview Middle School has consistently been one of the top-performing schools on the Colorado Student Assessment Program, scoring excellent and proficient as a school average on most of the tests.
  • The school has achieved notoriety in Colorado for winning the Colorado Science Olympiad competition, held at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. It defeated the second place team by 75 points with a final score of 105 and placing first in three events (Compute This, Experimental Design, Meteorology), second in five events, and third in three. The school's team participated in the national competition at the Indiana University Bloomington on May 20, 2006.
  • In recent years Eagleview has competed excellently in the Pikes Peak Chapter of the Colorado MathCounts competition. In 2004, the four-person team from the school placed second. In 2005 and 2006, the team placed first and third, respectively.
