Earthbound 64 (Japanese: Mother 3) was a cancelled game that was going to be released for the Nintendo 64 and then on the Nintendo 64DD. Several years later is was revealed that the project had started up again for the Game Boy Advance. It is not yet known how much is taken from the N64/64DD versions. However, pre-release information from Earthbound 64 involved a cowboy as one of the main characters, and pre-release screenshots of the GBA Mother 3 included the protagonistic cowboy, Flint and introduced many of the same characters that were planned to appear in the N64 version. Thus, it appears that some things have carried over from it. Also, it is not yet clear as to whether or not the GBA version will contain the same story.
