The East Bench of Salt Lake City, Utah is a relatively affluent neighborhood that climbs up the lower slopes of the Wasatch Range. It lies approximately east of 2100 East and south of the Federal Heights neighborhood to about Interstate 80. A prominent road through this neighborhood is Foothill Boulevard (Utah State Route 186), which lies on the top of a steep hill at the base of the mountains. The eastern half of the University of Utah lies on the East Bench. Several prominent attractions, including the Hogle Zoo, Red Butte Botanical Gardens, This Is The Place State Park, and the Foothill Village Shopping Center all lie on the East Bench.
