Encyclopedia > East India DLR station

East India is a station on Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in east London. It takes its name from the nearby former East India Docks of the Port of London, where ships trading with the Indian subcontinent used to dock.


The station is on the Beckton branch of the DLR between Blackwall and Canning Town stations, and is on the boundary between zone 2 and zone 3. The station opened, with the Beckton Branch, on the 28th March 1994.
