There were 1,145 housing units at an average density of 171.4/km² (444.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 93.98% White, 0.82% African American, 0.48% Native American, 0.67% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.96% from other races, and 3.03% from two or more races. There were 1,064 households out of which 15.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.3% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 43.6% were non-families. 39.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 30.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.94 and the average family size was 2.53.
