EastYork is a former suburb of Toronto, which was a borough of Metropolitan Toronto before it was amalgamated into the megacity of Toronto in 1998.
The borough of EastYork was established in 1967 through the amalgamation of the former township of EastYork and the former town of Leaside.
Over the last thirty years EastYork has become a major arrival point for immigrants, many of whom have established their first Canadian residence in the apartments that are plentiful in Thorncliffe Park.
