The East of England Regiment is the Territorial Army Infantry Unit of the East Midlands and East Anglia.

Formed on 1st July 1999 from elements of the Royal Anglian Regiment and the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment, the East of England Regiment has immense pride in its long and glorious history.

Aside from its history, the East of England Regiment is a strong force for the future, and has very strong links with both the Royal Anglian Regiment and the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment.

The East of England Regiment currently has a presence around the region. Though a Territorial Regiment, EER has some very experienced soldiers, some of which have been regular soldiers themselves. EER has had soldiers serve in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Due to the re-organisation of the British army in 2006, the East of England Regiment will be renamed to 3rd Batallion Royal Anglian to the delight of its soldiers as of 1st April 2006. 3RA will more likely serve in major operations between 2007 and 2009.
