Encyclopedia > Easter bonnet

An Easter Bonnet is a type of hat that people used to wear for easter services in church. Until recently, it was popular within infant school, to ask a child to design an easter-themed hat at this time of year, with the aim of getting their parents to wear it at the easter service. The hat derives from earlier times when people dressed up to go to church, and purchased especially new and elaborate designs for particular services, in the case of easter, taking the opportunity of the end of Lent to buy luxury items. Primary or elementary education is the first years of formal, structured education that occurs during childhood. ...
