Ebenales was a plant order in the old Cronquist classification system. Under the modern Angiosperm Phylogeny Group classification, it is included within the Ericales.


Families included under the Cronquist system were:

  • Ebenaceae (ebony) - 1 genus
  • Sapotaceae (sapodillas, sapotes) - 20 genera
  • Styracaceae (storax) - 2 genera
  • Symplocaceae (sweetleaf, symplocos) - 1 genus
