He is a Victorian moustache-shop owner, and he is the most generous and kind man in England, though his kindness is often abused by everyone around him, from beggars to his own god-daughter, who trick him into giving them money and presents to such an extent that he has nothing left for himself. However after a visitation from a Christmas spirit who shows him visions of his ancestors, he is corrupted by the revelation that the ruthless pursuit of power will probably prove more rewarding (such as the fact his descendant will become Emperor of the universe if he's evil, and a slave if he's good). Consequently he begins to display the brutal cruelty, selfishness and cynicism of his family line, slamming doors in people's faces and taking the wallet of his god-daughter's fiance. This however backfires after he insults Queen Victoria, missing out on a hefty reward for his former kindness. He is the son of Mr. E. Blackadder, and Grandpa of Captain Edmund Blackadder.
