Ebrahim Shah Afshar (? - 1748) was king of Persia from July to september of 1748. He was Adil Shah's brother and Nadir Shah's nephew. He toppled his brother in order to seize the power, and blinded him on July 6, 1748. However, only two months later his own troops rebel led against him, and slew him on September 24, 1748 thus ending his short reign. After him, Nadir's grandson, Shahrokh was elected by the nobels to ascend to the throne. Nader and his mother were carried off as slaves by the Ozbegs, but after death of his mother in captivity Nader managed to escape and became a soldier.
Soon he attracted the attention of a chieftain of the Afshar in whose service Nader rapidly advanced.
In 1747 a group of Afshar and Qajar chiefs decided "to breakfast off him ere he should sup off them".
