Ebro is a town located in Washington County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 250.


Geography

Ebro is located at 3026'35" North, 8552'51" West (30.443152, -85.880790)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 8.3 km (3.2 mi). 8.2 km (3.2 mi) of it is land and 0.1 km (0.1 mi) of it is water. The total area is 1.56% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 250 people, 102 households, and 63 families residing in the town. The population density is 30.6/km (79.4/mi). There are 116 housing units at an average density of 14.2/km (36.8/mi). The racial makeup of the town is 73.60% White, 3.60% African American, 6.40% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.40% Pacific Islander, 0.40% from other races, and 15.60% from two or more races. 4.40% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 102 households out of which 33.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.1% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.2% are non-families. 32.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 3.10.


In the town the population is spread out with 23.2% under the age of 18, 12.0% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 27.6% from 45 to 64, and 8.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 102.1 males.


The median income for a household in the town is $28,750, and the median income for a family is $40,833. Males have a median income of $33,333 versus $25,208 for females. The per capita income for the town is $14,504. 21.0% of the population and 20.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 22.6% of those under the age of 18 and 25.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
