Eddie Barclay (January 26, 1921 – May 13, 2005) was a French music producer whose singers included Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour.
Barclay's nose for success was not infallible, however: He refused to sign Bob Marley, ended his collaboration with Pierre Perret and dropped Michel Sardou, four years after discovering him by telling him "My little old fellow, write songs if you want, but especially do not sing them.
Barclay was notorious for his many wives to the extent that some journalists referred to him as 'Blue Beard'.

Eddie Barclay, who has died aged 84, was the doyen of French record producers, a man who in his own words "dedicated his life to preserving the art of French song".
One of the American jazz enthusiasts who had come to Eddie's Club was Alan Morrison, and in 1952 he urged the Barclays to come to the US to see the new revolution in recording, microgroove 45s and 33 rpm LPs.
Barclay said that although his life was dominated by love and friendship, his fidelity was reserved for his colleagues, and it was working with artists that had brought him his most profound happiness.
