EddieBlazonczyk is a native Chicagoan, son of Fred and Antoinette Blazonczyk, who for years operated the Pulaski Village Ballroom and later the Club Antoinette in Chicago.
Eddie started playing polkas in the early fifties with a four-piece combo known as “Happy Eddie and his Polka Jesters”.
EddieBlazonczyk is also a polka promoter, a disc jockey heard on WTAQ weekly, and president of the Bel-Aire Record Company with studios in Chicago.
EddieBlazonczyk is the undisputed king of the Chicago style of polka music.
His mother, who directed a traditional gorale (highland) band, and his father, who played cello in a gorale band, operated ballrooms in Chicago, where Blazonczyk was exposed to the leading polka musicians of the '40s and '50s.
Blazonczyk's wife, Tish, whom he met at a dance in 1962, operates the family business Bel-Aire Enterprises and co-hosts a four-hour-per-week radio show.
