Germany's education and research minister EdelgardBulmahn has met privately with the heads of seven leading German research organizations to discuss proposals for what could be a dramatic shakeup of the country's research system.
Bulmahn met last week (February 16) in Berlin with the research chiefs, who included the heads of the Max Planck Society, the German Research Foundation, the Fraunhofer Society, the Helmholtz Association, the Leibniz Association, the German Science Council, and the Association of Universities and Other Higher Education Institutions in Germany, Baun said.
Bulmahn outlined five main proposals for the pact in a speech in late January.
