The airline was founded on October 19th, 1995 in Bassersdorf, Switzerland with just one airplane, a McDonnell Douglas MD-83. In 1998, the company decided to re-equip their fleet to Airbus A320. In 1999, the company added long haul Airbus A330-200 planes. In 2006, by the 10th anniversary of its first flight, the company has grown to 240 full-time employees. It served more than 720,000 passengers in 2005.
