Eden Township is a township located in Brown County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 321.


Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 107.6 km˛ (41.5 mi˛). 107.0 km˛ (41.3 mi˛) of it is land and 0.5 km˛ (0.2 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 0.51% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 321 people, 123 households, and 93 families residing in the township. The population density is 3.0/km˛ (7.8/mi˛). There are 132 housing units at an average density of 1.2/km˛ (3.2/mi˛). The racial makeup of the township is 98.13% White, 0.31% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.25% from other races, and 0.31% from two or more races. 1.25% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 123 households out of which 29.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.4% are married couples living together, 4.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.6% are non-families. 21.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.61 and the average family size is 3.00.


In the township the population is spread out with 22.4% under the age of 18, 11.8% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 134.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 128.4 males.


The median income for a household in the township is $53,036, and the median income for a family is $57,250. Males have a median income of $29,821 versus $19,750 for females. The per capita income for the township is $22,425. 3.2% of the population and 2.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 0.0% of those under the age of 18 and 9.1% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

Brown was married, July 3, 1853, to Clarissa Lindley, of Likens Township, Crawford County, daughter of Eli and Irene (Triscot) Lindley, natives of York State, and of English parentage.
Brown was married to Eliza A. Lucas, of Whitehouse, Lucas Co., Ohio, daughter of David and Catharine (Demuth) Lucas, natives of Pennsylvania.
Pennington is a native of Bucks County, Penn., and daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Baty) Johnston, natives of Pennsylvania, and of Scotch descent.
